WineOnline is a wholly owned Irish company made up of people - wine lovers - from both within and outside of the trade, all with a considerable knowledge of the many aspects of the wine industry - sourcing, buying, tasting and, of course, enjoyment. In developing this website we have tried to de-mystify wine, to explain the jargon and break down the barriers that can exist, especially for people new to wine appreciation.

Gerry Fitzsimons
Gerry has been involved in the drinks industry in Ireland for the past 19 years, operating a successful distribution company under contract to one of Ireland's leading breweries. His involvement with wine dates back to 1989 when he established the first off-licence, Jus de Vine, in his hometown of Portmarnock in County Dublin. His fascination with the whole subject of wine continued over the next few years on both the academic and practical sides. He was awarded a Diploma with the Wine and Spirit Education Trust of London in 1993 and the same year won the National Tasting Trophy and French Bursary for academic achievement.
He is a member of The Irish Guild of Sommeliers and a regular contributor to Irish wine publications notably as an experienced wine taster. Past chairman of Dublin's 'Premier Cru' Wine Club, he represented that club when they won the Wine Club of the Year award in 1995 and also the Dublin inter-club 'Apron' Challenge in 1996 and 1999. Married to Máiréad, also a wine diploma graduate and wine lecturer, they have four adult children. As a co-founder and sales director of WineOnline.ie, Gerry's aspiration is to bring wine choice and value within the reach of everyone in Ireland, regardless of location.

Anne Mullin
Anne Mullin has had a keen interest in wine for the past 20 years. She began to collect wine and her interest in the viticulture and vinification of wine led to her achieving the Diploma from the Wine and Spirit Association in London in 1991. A member of the Council for the Irish Guild of Sommelliers for the past ten years and one of the founder members of the famous Dublin wine club Premier Cru.
She spends many a holiday in wine producing areas visiting vineyards, enjoying the local cuisine and sourcing new and exciting wines which eventually become available to you. Anne's 15 years experience in an international transport company has been a major contributing factor to the logistics of Wineonline.ie.
