Casa Antonete Crianza
Campo La Union AB
Tempranillo, DO, Spain 2005
2 x 75cl Bottles (RRP €11.99 each)
The term Crianza means that the wine has been aged for a minimum of 2 years after the harvest of which at least 6 months is in oak. This is an excellent value crianza with lovely fruit driven complexity and lots of dark berries and american oak influence giving balance and structure to the wine. This is a big wine, dark rich and mouthfilling and definitely not for the fainthearted. Typical in style and character to a good Rioja.

Albarino Atio - Rias Baixas
Bodegas Atio
Albarino, Spain 2006
2 x 75cl Bottles (RRP €14.99 each)
This wine is intensely aromatic and full-bodied, with a profusion of flowery notes over a fruity background (very ripe peaches) and a hint of fennel. On the palate the wine has a long aftertaste and is silky with an elegant fullness. A touch of vanilla in the finish is indicative of the wine’s short ageing in French oak.
