2) Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva 2006 Chile €14.99Deep garnet coloured wine fading to tawny at the rim showing good development. Intense bouquet of mature blackberries and cassis, with soft cedary tones. Dry with balanced acidity, soft tannins mellowing well into the fruit. Lots of ripe autumn fruits, blackberries and damsons with a long smooth well rounded finish. A very well made wine, mature and drinking now. Will last several years and may evolve a little more.
3) Syrah Northern Rhône (Crozes Hermitage) 2007 €11.99Inky purple coloured wine, almost opaque, full from rim to core. Pronounced aromas of stalky berries with hints of spice and pepper. Youthful development. Dry with very firm tannin structure, balancing acidity and big weight of blackcurrant fruit, in need of a little softening.
