Description:
Owned now by Chateau Beychevelle and ran by the same team, Situated in the Haut Medoc, sandwiched between Margaux and St Julien, Chateau Beaumont has long been a favourite of ours, producing classic Bordeaux from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot with just a dash of Petit Verdot. It’s a property with a long history dating back to the 1770s whilst the Chateau itself was built in 1854. Over the years ownership has passed between some of Europe’s wealthiest families but it now rests with Grands Millesimes de France, falling ultimately under the control of Suntory and Castel.

91/100 Points - Neal Martin, Vinous
"The 2022 Beaumont is very backward on the nose, with tobacco-infused black fruit, unashamedly classic in style. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins. Good mid-weight depth, a healthy pinch of black pepper and gentle grip on the finish, this has length and style. Looking for a bargain in '22? Step this way."

Tasting Notes:
A fruit forward, more modern style of claret with an increasing proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend, 65% for the 2022. Although still young, this has intense, super ripe black fruit and well-rounded tannins, a reflection of the warm vintage which allows for early drinking.
